He was predeceased by: his parents, James Barfield Sr. and Georgia Ann Barfield; and his siblings, Mattie Lee James, Henry Barfield, Lee Anna Barfield and James Barfield.
He is survived by: his wife Earline Barfield; his children, Jamica Barfield, Kimberly Cummings (John), Michael Barfield, Jim Barfield III (Cierra) and Patricia Barfield; and his siblings, Katherine Edwards of Hollandale, MS, Wesley Earl Barfield of Lawrence, KS, Roosevelt Barfield (Patricia) of Manassas, VA, Everlina Barfield of Toledo, OH, Leroy Barfield of Lawrence, KS and Joe Lee Barfield of Omaha, NE. He is also survived by 20 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.
