She was predeceased by: her parents, Harry Seitz and Rae Seitz; and her sister Geraldine Singer. She is survived by: her significant other Fred Okun; her daughters, Robin, Shelly Fruchtman (Gary) and Amy Nistel (Barry); her grandchildren, Zackary Dunivin, Zoe Dunivin (Adam Fisch), Joshua Goldberg (Amanda), Adam Goldberg (Andrea), Cydney Goldberg, Drew Saltzstein (Jenny) and Nikki Saltzstein Hochman (Michelle); and her great grandchildren, Phoebe, Margo, Aliza Goldberg, Aster Goldberg and Noah Saltzstein.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of JoAnn can be made to Temple Shomer Emunim or a charity of donor's choice.
