He was predeceased by: his parents, John Joseph and Hanna Sedlar Sr. (Fritz); and his brother Gerald Sedlar. He is survived by: his wife Corrine Sedlar (Zmuda); his sons, Steven Sedlar and Joe Sedlar (Kelly Hoefflin); his grandchildren, Abigail Anne Sedlar (Takume Yamada) and Emmit Sedlar; and his sister Susan Cooper. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Memorial donations may be given to Regina Coeli Catholic Church.
