He was predeceased by: his parents, Everette Spence and Maxi Spence (Watts); and his sister Louise Matney. He is survived by: his wife Betty Spence; his children, Bonita Thames and Johnny R. Spence, Jr.; and his stepsons, Michael Daum (Cindy) and Mark Daum.
