He was predeceased by: his parents, Teodoro Ruiz and Maria Ruiz (De Los Angeles); his wife Amelia; and his son Teodoro Ruiz. He is survived by: his children, Elena Scarberry (Garland), Jose Ruiz Jr. (Diana), Rigoberto Ruiz (Trisha) and Imelda Blanco (Felix); and his sisters, Juanita Hernandez and Mariana Mata. He is also survived by 19 grandchildren; 56 great grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild.
