Lynda (White) Groven Obituary
On February 9, 2021, Lynda Marie White Groven found eternal rest with Christ Jesus according to His promise in the book of John where He said, "I go to prepare a place for you, so that where I am, ye may be also." How precious are the promises of a loving God in times of sorrow! Knowing that the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ, we are assured that He has wiped away every tear from Lynda's eyes, as Revelation tells us, and "death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away."
Born on August 14, 1972, Lynda was the daughter of Harold and Marcia Baker White. She graduated Monroe High School in 1990 and married Todd Groven. She is survived by their four children: Ronda, Travis, Kyle and Colton; two grandchildren: Kristopher and Matthew; her father Harold; grandmother Wilma; siblings: Annette, David, Greg, Ronda and Darryl; and countless beloved aunts, uncles and cousins in Michigan and Kentucky. She was preceded in death by her mother Marcia, two grandfathers, and a grandmother.
Family was Lynda's top priority in life. She loved baking and old-fashioned candy making from a young age, and kept the dessert tables full at every gathering. She also enjoyed reading, genealogy, Southern history, and using her creative talents to restore old houses and furniture to their former glory. She worked part time throughout her life in various positions within the county of Monroe, most recently at the Monroe County Sheriff's Department.
A service and luncheon remembering Lynda will be held at the Evergreen Acres Missionary Baptist Church in Monroe, Michigan on Saturday, February 27, 2021 at 11 am. Interment will take place during a private ceremony at the White Family Cemetery in Perry County, Kentucky.
