He is survived by: his wife Joyce; his children, Carrie Zunk, Douglas Smay (Deadra), Donald Smay (Liesl) and Donna Smay (Charles Cieslik); his sister Val Jean Walker; his sisters-in-law, Woneida Smay and Judy Kwiatkowski (Rich); his grandchildren, Sara Barnes, Emily Smay, Christopher Roemer, Kyle Smay, Megan Anderson, Erica Bare, Christopher Luettke and Patrick Luettke; and his great grandchildren, Jackson Barnes, Aiden Barnes and Kaylee Bare.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 19th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Newcomer Funeral Home (4150 W Laskey Rd, Toledo, OH 43623). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 19th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the same location.
