She was predeceased by: her parents, Floyd Smith and Mildred Smith (Zapf); her husband Robert Smotherman Sr.; her son Alan Dean Smotherman; and her sister Gloria Rae Miller.

She is survived by: her children, Robert Smotherman Jr. (Linda), Gloria Flick (Ross) and Michael Smotherman (Donna Bucklew); her grandchildren, Angie Husted (Chad), Amy Dawes (Tim), Michelle Van Epps (Chris), Kristi Edgar (James) and Robert Smotherman (Jessica); her brother Ron Smith; and her sister-in-law Jessie Karen. She is also survived by 12 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
