She was predeceased by: her parents, Herman Austin and Ethel Austin (Bryant); her husband Ernest McFarland Sr.; and her children, Norbert, Joseph McFarland and Patricia Gastly.

She is survived by: her children, Ernestine Rippke (Jack), Mary Bagheri, Ernest McFarland Jr. (Diane), Jean Lee (Kenny), David McFarland (Lori), Elizabeth Revella (Carlos) and Donald McFarland. She is also survived by 19 grandchildren, 47 great-grandchildren, and four great great-grandchildren.
