He was predeceased by: his parents, Jose Sr. Vasquez and Paula Vasquez, Sr. (Salas); his son Samuel Vasquez; his siblings, Raul Vasquez and Celia Vasquez; his brother-in-law Jose Medina; and his nephews, Paul Garza and Sebastian "Sob-Sob" Guerrero.

He is survived by: his wife Erminia Vasquez; his son Simon, Jr.; his siblings, Alice Garza (Gene), Antonia Vasquez, Elena Vasquez, Guadalupe Garcia Carol (Rick), Angie Vasquez, Jose Vasquez (Jan), Jesse Vasquez (Vicky) and Jimmy Vasquez (Patty); his grandchildren, Simon Michael, Angelica, Maci, Mlyah, Samuel, Anthony, Desmon and Avion; and his goddaughter Crissy Vasquez.
