With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Walter V. Speelman Sr. of Toledo, Ohio, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on June 9, 2025 at the age of 74. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Speelman and Marion Speelman (Mercer); his wife Kelley Speelman; and his siblings, Francis Cook, Linda Castilleja and Judy Medina.
He is survived by: his children, Walter V. Speelman Jr. (Danielle), Shanon Speelman (Elvis) and Jamie Melendez (Hector); his grandchildren, Cindy L. Gonzelez, Alicia M. Speelman and Walter Speelman III; his children, Jakeitha Robinson (Kyle), Parker Middlebrooks, Shelby Speelman, Alana Melendez, Sydney Melendez (Juan), Ava Melendez and Giovoni Melendez; his great grandchildren, Lilly, Gary, Ares, Walter III, Mary Jane, Kostyn, Jaiden, Jaxton, Zayden, Bryson, Devonta, Layloni and Alejandro; his siblings, Bill Speelman, David Speelman (Amy) and Peggy Ramm; and his pet Oddie.
Visitation will be held on Monday, June 16th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Newcomer Funeral Home (4752 Heatherdowns Blvd, Toledo, OH 43614). A celebration of life will be held on Monday, June 16th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
