He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Ladwig and Edna Ladwig (Eberlein); and his wife Cheri Ladwig (Mehlberg). He is survived by: his children, Hannah Newton (David) of Seattle, WA, Samuel Ladwig (Christina), Temperance, Jessica Nowak (Martin) of Leland, NC and Zachary Ladwig (Theodora); and his grandchildren, Bethany, Shiloh Newton, Audrey, Cole Ladwig and Maisy Nowak. He is also survived by many other relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers a memorial fund for Toledo Christian has been established in his memory.
