He was predeceased by: his parents, William L. McDowell, and Helon McDowell, Sr.; his brother Wayne McDowell; and his former wife Karen McDowell. He is survived by: his children, Nicholas McDowell (Kelli Hopkins) of Napoleon, Ohio and Vanessa McDowell of Ashland, Ohio; and his sister Melanie Barnaby (Brent).
