He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Clarence Hawkins and Ella Mae Hawkins (Ensell); his wife Letitia "Tisha" Tracy Arehart; his children, Jill Shimmel (Joe), Jodi Welday (John) and Warrie Hawkins; his grandchildren, Neil Hawkins, Jenna Shimmel Winkler (Scott), Joseph W. Shimmel (Raabe), Jared Welday (Ashley) and Jordan Welday Brown (Mike); and his great grandchildren, Lydia, Warren, Will, Walker, Wyatt, Jasper, Kennedy and Karsyn.
Visitation was held on Sunday, August 30th 2026 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Monday, August 31st 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A celebration of life was held on Monday, August 31st 2026 at 11:00 AM at the First Presbyterian Church (116 N 3rd St, Toronto, OH 43964).
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to First Presbyterian Church in Toronto, Ohio.
