He was predeceased by: his parents, David Bench and Virginia Bench (Smelker); his former wife Sharon Bench (Speelman); and his daughter Chara Ann Bench. He is survived by: his siblings, Paul Bench of Florida, Martha Meeks (Bench) of Trotwood and Barbara Fiant of Pleasant Hill; his wife Sandy Bench (Bell) of Trotwood; his children, Miriam Smith (Shon) of Kettering, Micah Bench (Maura) of Brookville, Rebecca Sanford (DaJuan) of Englewood, Tim Bench (Beth) of Brookville, Julia Denlinger (Derek) of Columbus, Philip Bench (Heather) of Kettering, Becky Roark (Bill) and Carolina; his grandchildren, Claira, Ethan, Jackson Bench, Noelle, Simon Bench, Kymani, Jayla Sanford, Cara, Jonathan Denlinger, Anna, Asher, Sam (Emily), Jacob Bench (Katie), Haylea McCoy (Shane) and Hillary Crawford (Morgan); and his great grandchildren, Graham, Josephine and Eleanor Bench.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 7th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Phillips Temple (3620 Shiloh Springs Rd, Trotwood, OH 45426). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 7th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: Gideons International – sharing God's Word around the world, Brunner Literacy Center – supporting the gift of literacy for others, and Hospice of Dayton – honoring patients and caring for families with tenderness and expertise.

We still think of all of you With fondness and pray that you all will be supportive of one another, and hold each other up in the loss of your Dad.
