He was predeceased by: his parents, Russell Melvin Hartley and Jessie Jean Hartley (Brown); and his siblings, Ronnie, Dee, Lee, Wilma and Bev.
He is survived by: his wife Judy Hartley (Yount); his son Bruce Vanover (Rhonda) of Troy; his grandchildren, Kyle Vanover (Andi), Brooke Vanover and Terra Pisano (Matt); his great grandchildren, Ayden, Carter, Rae, Charli Jo, Liam, Bella, Matthew of Brandon, TJ, Gabby and Ana; and his sister Patty Wise of Troy.
Memorial donations may be given to Hospice of Dayton.
