He was predeceased by: his parents, Ermal Ray Tackett, Sr. and Ruby Tackett (Willey); his wife Gloria Tackett; his grandson Kyle Ray Davis; his son-in-law Charles F. Davis, Sr.; his sister Dartenella Allen; and his cousin Teddy Ray Tackett.

He is survived by: his daughter Deborah Davis; his grandson Charles Davis, Jr.; his great grandchild Chloe Davis; his siblings, Lisa Tackett, Teresa Tackett, David Tackett and Johnny Tackett; and his cousins, Gary Tackett (Margaret), Johnny Tackett and Betty Sue Tackett. He is also survived by numerous extended family members and friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 9th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Newcomer Funeral Home (4104 Needmore Rd, Dayton, OH 45424). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 9th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Friday, October 9th 2026 at the Dayton Memorial Park (8135 N Dixie Dr, Dayton, OH 45414).
