He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Young Sr. and Gustavia Tidwell-Young; his wife Mattie Young; his siblings, Carl Young Jr., Elzie Young, Harding Bernette Young, Ira Thomas Young, Willie Davis Young, William Jeremiah, Alberta Young-Hill, Alzerine Marie Jacob-Young and Annie Merle Young; and his grandchildren, Cynthia King, Michael "Mikie" Williams, Cedric Connors, Brittany Baskin and Isaiah Baskin.
He is survived by: his sisters, Ruby Earlene Young-Curry and Alice Faye Young-Cotton; his children, JoAnn King, Dorothy King, James Morrison, Terry Clemons, Brian Clemons, Ricky Godsey, Angela Godsey, Miles Brown, LaDonna Williams (Michael) and Christopher King (Tina); and his nieces, Michelle Sockwell and Nettavia Curry. He is also survived by great grandchildren.
