He is survived by: his daughters, Marilyn Vaughn of Troy, OH, Susan Stilwell (John) of Crystal River, FL and Carol Prudden (Randy) of Eaton, OH; his siblings, Michael Smekens of Bluffton and Suzie Studebaker (Gary) of Palm Harbor, FL.; and his children, Debbie Gaunt of Ossian, Dean Smekens of Fort Wayne and David Smekens of Bluffton, Indiana. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
