He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Samuel Melvin, Sr. and Janet Melvin (Newman); his sons, Caleb Melvin of Tipp City and Shawn Gregory (Jody) of Pittsburgh, PA; the mother of his children Karen Gregory Melvin of Troy; his grandson Weylan Gregory; his siblings, Patricia Melvin of Maryland, Sandy Melvin Gillespie of Troy, Michael Melvin (Ena) of Bradford and Charles "Chuck" Melvin of Sidney; and his close friends, Bruce Radimachir, Tom Williamson and Becky Clark. He was also cherished by seven nieces and two nephews, as well as many great nieces and nephews.
