He was predeceased by: his father Willard R. Hawkins; and his brother Willard Raymond Hawkins, II. He is survived by: his wife Mary F. Hawkins (Elliott); his sister Dorothy Louise Haulman Miller (Ted) of Troy; his nephews, Jeffrey Haulman and Aaron C. Elliott; and his niece Jennifer Haulman Monnin.

Memorial contributions may be made to Brukner Nature Center, Hayner Cultural Center, St. Patrick Catholic Church in Troy, St. Boniface Catholic Church in Piqua or Day-City Hospice.
