He was predeceased by: his parents, John Adkins and Geraldine Adkins (Irvin); and his wife Barbel Evelyn Adkins (Marklein). He is survived by: his daughters, Barbara Holman (Billy) of Troy and Sandra Shumate (Bruce) of Atlanta, GA; and his granddaughters, Eve and Sage Shumate.
