He was predeceased by: his parents, William "Willie" Thompson and Lenora "Nora" Thompson West (Elkins); his son Gene Joins; and his siblings, Lassie "Shorty" West (Thompson), Grace "Gracie" Booten (Thompson), James "Frank" Thompson, Shirley Zank (West), Harlan West, Martha "Carol" Howard (West) and Audrey "Kitty" Stump (West).
He is survived by: his grandchildren, Dean Joins (Regina) of Conover, OH, Deirdre "Dee Dee" Joins of Troy, OH and Brian Joins (Brandy) of Troy, OH; his great grandchildren, Casi Hardin (Joe), Joshua-Lee Joins, Jessica Pemberton, Dylan Joins, Amber Joins, Taylor Vonderhuevel (Keith), Brian Joins II and Evan Joins; his great great grandchildren, Austin, Dalton, Presley, London, Payton, Leia, Jameson, Jackson, Darci, Jaxson, Paisley and Bonnie; and his close friends, Mike and Pam Bennett of Youngsville, NC.. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
