She was predeceased by: her parents, Smith "Cotton" Reed and Eva Mae Reed (Sharits); her son Melvin Howard Smith, Jr.; and her siblings, Wilma Reed Willoughby, Timothy Reed and Glenn Reed.
She is survived by: her son Matthew A. Smith of Troy; her husband Denny Wyen of Troy; and her siblings, Wanda Fulcher of Orlando, FL, Wanita Morris (Greg) of Denver, NC, Rick Reed (Gaylene) of Troy and Lonnie Reed of Troy. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
