He was predeceased by: his parents, Theodore Lee and Judith Ann Ruth (O'Donnell); his brother Sam Ruth; and his grandparents, Dolly, Sam Macaione and Alice Ruth.

He is survived by: his wife Lori D. Ruth (Brown); his son Ryan Ruth (Sarah); his granddaughter Lily; his siblings, Tina Hayden (Doug) and Tim Ruth; his niece Katie (Curt); his aunt Sandy; his uncle Don Hansen; and his daughters, Sophia, Lexis and Abby.

In lieu of flowers, charitable contributions honoring his memory may be made to the Tuscarawas County Humane Society and Ohio's Hospice Foundation.
