He was predeceased by : his mother Marilyn Jacob (Holden); his siblings, Jack and Jill; and his nephew Mason Roese. He is survived by : his father Dean Jacob; his wife Stephanie Ann Roys; his siblings, Jeff Jacob (Alison) of Lockbourne, Traci Zeimer (Dan) of Ashville, Trudi Crabtree (Eric) of Circleville and Teri Roese (Shane) of Ashville; his parents-in-law, Angela and Verne Roys; and his siblings-in-law, Shirley (John) and Anthony (Michelle) of Indiana.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Evangelical, Wyandot County Historical Society, or the Salvation Army, and can be sent to Lucas Batton Funeral Home, 476 S. Sandusky Ave., Upper Sandusky, Ohio 43351 ‍ Randy's life was a testament to the power of love, the strength of family, and the impact one person can have on the world around them.

“Randy left a legacy in so many lives, mine among them. He was a learned man who did not use his knowledge to puff himself up but, rather, to lift the rest of us up. I would look forward to asking Randy any of my biblical questions because I knew he would search that big library he had in his head until he had an answer, if any answer was available. His expertise in the Greek language was invaluable and opened up lots of "rabbit holes" his study group could then explore. He will be missed.”
