Sharon Shirey Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Sharon Shirey of Upper Sandusky, Ohio, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on October 21, 2025 at the age of 79. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Sharon Shirey to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Dewitt Voorheis and Mildred Voorheis; her former husband Harold Ruhlen; her husband Larry Shirey; her son Jay Ruhlen; and her brother-in-law Dick Myers.
She is survived by: her children, Elizabeth Braun (Greg) of Upper Sandusky and James Ruhlen (Jennifer) of Upper Sandusky; her stepchildren, Rick Shirey (Christine) of Plymouth, Kevin Shirey (Mardy) of Fayetteville, Bryan Shirey (Angie) of Springfield, Debra Stockmaster (Steve) of Willard, Peggy Stokke of Williamsburg and Virginia; her grandchildren, John Braun, Jeff Roosa, Chelsey Amory (Braun), Caylin Braun, Emily Ruhlen and Erica Ruhlen; and her siblings, Ron Voorheis (Becky), Irene Walton (Carl), Phyllis Myers and Diana Hoover (Steve). She is also survived by 4 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 23rd 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Friday, October 24th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home (476 S Sandusky Ave, Upper Sandusky, OH 43351). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 24th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Friday, October 24th 2025 at the Oak Hill Cemetery (13623 Co Hwy 119, Upper Sandusky, OH 43351).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Wyandot Memorial, and can be sent to Lucas-Batton, 476 S. Sandusky Ave. Upper Sandusky, OH 43351.
