He was predeceased by: his parents, Johnson E. "Huck" Gilbert and Martha B. Gilbert (Ward); and his daughter-in-law Jodi Lynn Gilbert. He is survived by: his children, Kimberly McNeely (John) and Timothy W. Gilbert; his grandchildren, Jami Clifford (Kevin), Jessica Ault (Eli), Jared McNeely, Tymothy Gilbert (Breanna) and Garth Gilbert; and his great grandchildren, Ava, Chloe, Keegan, Franki, Oliver, August and Mason.

Memorial contributions may be made to Logan County Historical Society, 521 E. Columbus Avenue, Bellefontaine, Ohio 43311.
