It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Daniel L. Smith of Urbana, Ohio, who passed away on June 4, 2025, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Daniel L. Smith to pay them a last tribute.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Chester Raymond and Pauline F. Smith (Shaw); his stepfather Jerry Smith; his mother-in-law Mary Overton; his daughter-in-law Cheryl Smith; and his grandchildren, Jerri Hart and Evan Whitt.
He is survived by: his wife Patricia A. Smith; his children, Paula Wolf (Jeff), Gloria Carter, Tammy Smith, Jenny Whitt (Jim) and Daniel L. Smith II (Sarah); his brother Thomas E. Smith (Cheryl); and his grandchildren, Nathan Hart (Brittany), Ashley Carter, Matthew Hart (Kristina), Aaron Neruda (Ian), Chris Hart (McKenzie), Cory Roark, Troy Millhouse (Brooklyn), Levi Smith (Carianne), Hunter Smith (Tommi), Daniel L. Smith III and Ethan Whitt. He is also survived by numerous great grandchildren; 3 great-great granddaughters; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 10th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Vernon Funeral Home (235 Miami St, Urbana, OH 43078). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 10th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location.
