He was predeceased by: his parents, Marshall G. Evans and Dorothy Evans (Connolly); his son Eric Evans; his brother Max Evans; his sisters-in-law, Janice Evans, Pauletta Evans, Judy Shafer Galle and Vivian Evans; and his in-laws, George Melvin and Anne Shafer.
He is survived by: his wife Emma Jeanne Evans; his children, Ed Evans (Tonya) and Molly Curnutte (Dan); his daughter-in-law Janine Evans; his brothers, Neil Evans and Dewitt Evans; his brother-in-law Steven T. Galle; his grandchildren, Emily Klinger, Katherine Bloebaum, Brantley Curnutte, Carson Curnutte, Calle Evans Cook, Elleree Evans, Marra Evans and Zhoe Evans; and his great grandchildren, Margaret Klinger, Michael Klinger, Miles Bloebaum and Elora Cook. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A memorial gathering was held on Tuesday, September 8th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Vernon Funeral Home (235 Miami St, Urbana, OH 43078). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, September 9th 2026 at 10:30 AM at the First Presbyterian Church (116 W Court St, Urbana, OH 43078).
