He was predeceased by: his parents, Wayne William and Margaret June Petty (Stayrook); his wife Lois "Janie" Jane Petty; his sisters, Kate Randall and Betty Randall; his parents-in-law, Lloyd and Goldie Ratcliff; and his siblings-in-law, Helen Slone, Ernest Ratcliff, Don Ratcliff, Dick Ratcliff and Bill Ratcliff.
He is survived by: his sisters, Martha Gayer and Linda Tacket (Lloyd). He is also survived by nieces and nephews, family and friends.
Visitation was held on Thursday, October 22nd 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Walter and Lewis Funeral and Cremation Center (642 S Main St, Urbana, OH 43078). A funeral service was held on Thursday, October 22nd 2026 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Thursday, October 22nd 2026 from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM at the Oak Dale Cemetery (319 Patrick Ave, Urbana, OH 43078).
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Lester's memory to Interim Hospice of Dayton, 5211 Waynetowne Ct., Ste C, Huber Heights, OH 45424.
