He was predeceased by: his parents, Cyril J. Schaefer and Helen Schaefer; his nephew Daniel Schaefer; and his sister-in-law Patti Schaefer. He is survived by: his siblings, Mark (Debbie), Paul Schaefer (Karen), Anne Barth (Ken), Martha Urban (Al) and Laura Litvin (Paul); and his close friend Linda Williams. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church or the Valley City Fire and Rescue Department.
