We are sad to announce that on April 11, 2024, at the age of 65, Dean W. Black of Van Wert, Ohio, born in Decatur, Indiana passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by : his parents, Robert Black and Sharon Black; his wife Sherrie S. Black (Lovellette); and his siblings, Forest Black, Stuart Black, Roberta Waldron and Melissa Lawson.

He is survived by : his children, Jason Black of Decatur, Tim Black of Fort Wayne, IN and Jan Waltmire (Mike) of Delphos, OH; his grandchildren, Maddisyn Waltmire, Mason Waltmire, Skylar Black and Galvin Black; his great grandchildren, Gregory Black and Abel Black; and his brother-in-law Fred Waldron of Blacksburg, SC..

Visitation was held on Sunday, April 14th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Cowan & Son Funeral Home (616 S Washington St, Van Wert, OH 45891). A funeral service was held on Sunday, April 14th 2024 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
