He was predeceased by: his parents, Otto Wilhelm and Clara Augusta Knerr (White); his grandson Joshua Knerr; and his brothers, Dean, Paul, Glenn and Mark Knerr.
He is survived by: his wife Joan Dull; and his children, Ronald Knerr (Gail) of Pueblo, Deborah Roe (Ronald) of Trinidad, Dr. Joel Knerr (Michelle) of Convoy and Mary Ann Phelps (Robert) of Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
