John J. Freund Obituary
We are sad to announce that on June 17, 2025, at the age of 92, John J. Freund of Van Wert, Ohio passed away. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of John J. Freund to pay them a last tribute.
As John departs from our midst, his spirit ascends to join the cosmic dance of stars, a shimmering constellation of memories that will forever grace the night sky of the hearts of those who loved John. Though John may no longer walk beside us, his legacy lives on — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of time and space.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer Freund and Mable Freund (Mox); and his wife Marlene L. Freund. He is survived by: his children, Naomi Freund-Greenlee (Jeff) of Boulder City, Dan Freund (Lori) of Van Wert, Beth Ward (Steve) of Townsend, Montana and Ed Freund of Van Wert. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 25th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM and on Thursday, June 26th 2025 at 10:00 AM. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 26th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. Mark's Lutheran Church (160 W Sycamore St, Van Wert, OH 45891).
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to the Bell Fund at St. Mark's Lutheran Church.
