He was predeceased by : his parents, Albert D. Schaufelberger and Nina C. Schaufelberger (Phillips); his wife Alice Schaufelberger; and his siblings, Mindred A. Schaufelberger and Mary Alice Porter.

He is survived by : his son Matthew Schaufelberger (Julie) of Van Wert; and his grandchildren, Jakob, Joseph, Allison and Erin Schaufelberger.
