He is survived by: his parents, Nancy Riley (Brown) and Robert F. McPhail; his children, Nicholus McPhail (Zoey) and Kaylee McPhail (Joshua Lane) of Van Wert; and his stepbrothers, Andrew Riley (Shelly) of Kalida, Cory Riley of Van Wert, Robert Wilhelm of Van Wert and Dennis Wilhelm Jr..
