He was predeceased by: his daughter Dana Jo; his parents, DeMark Smith and Freda Smith; his brother Ron Smith; his parents-in-law, William, Leah Matthews, Joan, Stanley Day and Roger Matthews; and his son-in-law Gary Schulze.

He is survived by: his wife Judy; his family, Judy Smith, Jeff Smith, Susan Schulze, Alex Chestnut, Paula, George Sideras, Claudia Smith, Michael, Stephanie Smith, Leisyl, Chuck Jackson, Matt and Cynthia Smith; and his great grandchildren, Christy Stadig, Krista Kieser, DeMark Schulze, Colleen O'Donnell, Poe, Philip Schulze, Zac Sideras, Luke, Jessey Sideras, Ashlynn, Taylor, Jimmy Devitt, James, Holly Smith, John Smith and Sydney Jackson (Matt Heeter).

It would take an act of God, or Covid, to keep him from his 3x weekly card games at the Senior Center and monthly poker with the guys.

In lieu of flowers, causes dear to dad's heart are: Miami Valley Down Syndrome and St. Christopher's Church.
