It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Michael Shirk of Vandalia, Ohio, born in Marion, Ohio, who passed away on September 5, 2023, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Edwin H. Shirk and Lillian P. Shirk (Bradshaw); his wife Rosie; and his sisters, Marjorie, Clarice and Sue.
He is survived by: his children, Jane Tompkins Jacobs (Jeff), James Shirk (Peggy), John Shirk (Michele), Julia Hughes (Jeff) and Joann Morgan (Andy); his grandchildren, Emily Funk (Travis), Andy Tompkins, Rebecca Dieter (Cory), William Tompkins, Michael Shirk, Ryan Shirk, Alex Shirk, Nicole Staley (Tim), Johnny Shirk, Jackson Bush, Samantha Hughes, Bennett Hughes, Natalie Hughes, Collin Morgan (Olivia), Clayton Morgan and Alley Morgan; and his great grandchildren, Hazel Funk, Zander Funk, Ava Shirk Huffman, Luna Staley, Leo Staley, Leia Staley, Lillian Morgan, Liam Morgan, Nora Morgan and Winona Morgan.
