He was predeceased by: his parents, Wilbur R. Smith and Dorothy A. Smith (Jones); and his former wife Claudia Jo Smith. He is survived by: his wife Joyce T. Jacoby (Trostel); his sons, Mark Smith (Terri) and David Smith (Linda); his grandchildren, Emily Faulkner (Sam), Brenna Walden (Reagan), Paul Smith and Peter Smith; his great grandchildren, Mya and Jack; his brother Robert Smith; and his sister-in-law Janice Stuckey. He is also survived by his extended family & many good friends.
