David left this world on September 28, 2025 at the age of 75, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. He was predeceased by: his parents, LeRoy Hansen and Gertrude Hansen (Koeppe); and his former wife Chris Burkett. He is survived by: his wife Helen; his daughters, Kathy Myers (Jeff), Wendy Walker (Casey) and Jessica Hansen (Amber); his stepchildren, Natalie Zielinski (Shadd) and Wes Orshoski (Jeanine); his grandchildren, Samantha Boudreau (Michael), Allyson Bosch (Grant), Jacob Myers (Gianna), Madison, Abigail Walker, Justin, Joshua and Ashley Zielinski; his great grandchild Paisley; his sister Cheryl Hoffman; and his nephews, Jon Hoffman (Matt) and Jim Hoffman (Julie).
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 1st 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Riddle Funeral Home (5345 South St, Vermilion, OH 44089). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 1st 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Lake Erie Labrador Retriever Rescue, PO Box 135 Bath, PA 44210, in honor of David's love for dogs.
