He was predeceased by: his wife Judith "Judy" Ann Makuch; his parents, Frank T. Makuch and Adela Hohil; his grandson Jasyiah Jerrian Boone; his sister Irene "Raina" Hamill; and his son-in-law Richard Meeker.
He is survived by: his son Joseph Makuch Jr.; his grandson Matthew Makuch; his daughters, Pamela Meeker, Barbara Smith (James), Kimberly Makuch, Loria Makuch and Lisa Makuch; and his siblings, Olga "Helen" Hunt, Myron Hohil and Steve Hohil. He is also survived by grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Monday, November 2nd 2026 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Dovin Funeral and Cremation Specialists (2701 Elyria Ave, Lorain, OH 44055). A funeral service will be held on Monday, November 2nd 2026 at 6:00 PM at the same location.
