With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Josephine Whitt of Vermilion, Ohio, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on June 11, 2025 at the age of 83. She was predeceased by: her parents, Wilson Ellis and Anna Ellis; and her siblings, Anse, Roscoe, Douglas Ellis and Easter Beberry.
She is survived by: her children, James Whitt (Deborah) of Vermilion and Kristi Mahan (Kevin) of Vermilion; her granddaughter Alexis Clemons; and her siblings, Jessie Ileene Ellis of Chapmanville, WV, Buster Walter Ellis of Chapmanville, Darvin Ellis of Pineville, WV and William Ellis of High Shoals, NC. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday, June 16th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Riddle Funeral Home (5345 South St, Vermilion, OH 44089). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 17th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Firelands Baptist Church (1230 State St #113, Vermilion, OH 44089). A burial will be held on Tuesday, June 17th 2025 at the Maple Grove Cemetery (8303 Cemetery Rd, Vermilion, OH 44089).
