He was predeceased by: his parents, Cecil Carter and Tazzie Carter; his sister Bonnie Riffe; and his brother-in-law Clyde Eggleston. He is survived by: his wife Tammy L. Carter; his daughters, Tera Gonzales (Eric) of Vermilion and Lindsey Carter of Vermilion; his grandson Carter Gonzales; his siblings, Judy Eggleston, Katherine Cline (Gene), Roy, Ray (Elaine), David (Joanne), Steve, John (Darla), Ellery and Tim Carter (Darlene); and his brother-in-law Dotson Riffe. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
