George Steager Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of George Steager of Vickery, Ohio, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on September 19, 2025 at the age of 93. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, George Steager and Emily Steager (Barbara); and his siblings, Joseph, John "Jackie" Steager and Carolyn Ladd.
He is survived by: his children, Timothy Steager (Deb) of Burlington, WI, John "Chip" Steager (Lisa) of Vickery, Brenda Stults (Jerry) of Fremont and Beth Burkett (Matt) of Clyde; his grandchildren, Blair Steager (Caitlin), Jared Steager (Stacy Statema), Heather Steager, Amber Gahler, Jonathan Steager, Jacob Steager and Nathan Burkett; his great grandchildren, Lily, Ayla, Cohen, Emeli, Dallas, Shelton, Colten, Annabelle and Wyatt; and his sisters-in-law, Thelma Munson and Nancy Pickens (Dan). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation was held on Saturday, September 27th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Sunday, September 28th 2025 from 1:30 PM to 2:00 PM. A funeral service was held on Sunday, September 28th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church (1320 Co Rd 268, Vickery, OH 43464).
Memorial contributions in honor of George may be made to the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church or Matthias Academy, 12210 Antioch Rd, Trevor, WI 53179 (where George's granddaughter, Heather, attends school).
