He was predeceased by : his parents, Everett Richards and Docia Richards; his siblings, Ray (Christine), Rondall, Shelby Frederick Grimes (Pete), Wilma Barnhart (Thomas), Linda Sinnett (Ray) and Shirley Ann Richards; and his brother-in-law Arden H. Richards I..

He is survived by : his wife Sharon; his children, Robert Richards (Stacey), William Richards, Jarett Richards and Ginger Faiella (Louis); and his siblings, Violet Richards, Roberta Coler (Richards) and Steve Richards (Donna). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Barlow Volunteer Fire Department and Strecker Cancer Center.

“We were so sorry to find out that Jerry had passed away. He was such a wonderful man. We thank him for his service and for the good times we have had as friends. Ron and Jerry always talked about being in the 1st Cav and all he went through in Vietnam. Ron was also in the army. Know that our love, and prayers for comfort and peace in the days ahead are with you. Love you, Ron and Cathy Schultheis”
