He was predeceased by: his mother Dorothy Poling (Foust); his son Scott Poling; and his brother Tom Poling. He is survived by: his father Harold Poling; his children, Michele Howe (Murphy), Beth Klima (Paul) and Jill Cvetanovich (Will Kennedy); his grandchildren, Jamie Merrell (Nick), Christie Da Costa (Marcel), Cooper Myers and Jolene Kennedy; his great grandchildren, Riley and Jameson Merrell; and his sisters, Linda Mack, Diana Sprague (Joe) and Barb Truesdale (Pete). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
