He is survived by: his wife Deborah Gilger (Grocott); his son Jeff Gilger (Heidi) of Boardman; his stepdaughter Michelle Beauchene of Vienna; and his grandchildren, Jeffrey Jr. Gilger (Sarah), Kamryn Gilger, Ashlee Duncan, Brittney Duncan (Chris), Brittany Danforth (David), Hillary Hartzell, Reagan Evans and Madison Beauchene. He is also survived by 13 great-grandchildren.
