It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Cornelius Butler Sr. of Warren, Ohio, born in Columbus, Ohio, who passed away on December 19, 2023, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Jake Butler and Amy Swopes Butler; his former wife Priscilla Butler; his children, Jason Butler, Brian Butler and Carlotta Harvey; and his siblings, Jake Butler Jr., Uester Butler, Robert Butler, Ray Butler, Jack Butler, Amos Butler and Earlene Collins.
He is survived by: his children, Cornelius Butler Jr. of Warren, Floyd Lee Butler of Warren, Sherry Butler-Jones of Columbus, OH and Julia Calhoun of Warren; and his stepchildren, Edward Charles Hugan (Monita) of Detroit, MI, Chanel Renee Griffith (Darries) of Cincinnati, OH and Sandra Watts (Mike) of Bartlett, TN.. He is also survived by relatives and friends.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday, December 28, 2023 at 12:00 noon at the New Freedom Missionary Baptist Church, with Calling Hours from 11:00 a. m.-12:00 p. m. Masks are suggested.
