She was predeceased by: her parents, Walter McCleary and Blanche McCleary (Bradley); her husband Rayford Benford, Jr.; her children, Vanessa Benford and William Benford; her grandson Devon; and her siblings, Alice, Irene, Mabel, Lorrell, Ruby, Ara, Woodrow "Woody", Edward E. and Robert "Bobby" McCleary.
She is survived by: her children, Barbara Benford Jackson, Melinda Humphrey (Benford) and Thomas Benford (Shari); her stepson Robert Benford; her grandchildren, Aric, LaWanda, Tara, Sierra, Astona, Marley, Darius, Omar, Keishla, Rhodell, Kendrik and Sage; and her great grandchildren, Djwan, Elias, Javan, Ethan, Talitha and Darius.
